BENNINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont supervisory union is taking another look at its policies after backlash over the Pledge of Allegiance.
Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union Superintendent James Culkeen says that’s not true and that school principals for several years have had the power to decide whether the pledge will be recited.
The supervisory union’s board is meeting Tuesday night in Bennington to develop a clear practice for the Pledge of Allegiance going forward.
