Workers find buried animal carcasses at CRREL Hanover facility

HANOVER, N.H. (WCAX) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says contractors found animal remains on a section of their Hanover property that was formerly owned by Dartmouth College.

While digging a culvert at the Corps’ Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, the workers found buried animal carcasses in black plastic bags.

They don’t know where the animal remains came from but an investigation is underway.

The CRREL facility off Lyme Road is several miles away from the Rennie Farm, a site where Dartmouth once dumped animals used in science experiments.
