State wants Vermonters’ input on land management plan

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – State officials want to hear from Vermonters about how to best manage state-owned land.

The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources has put out a draft rule to help shape the plan for managing the land they own and manage.

That includes around 375,000 acres across the Departments of Forests, Parks and Recreation; Fish and Wildlife; and Enviromental Conservation.

Management plans help state departments balance demands on resources.

There will be two public meetings to discuss the draft. The first one is at 6 p.m. Monday at the Okemo Resort.

Public meetings:

  • Sept. 16, 6-8 p.m.: Okemo Mountain Resort, Jackson Gore Inn, Roundhouse Room, 111 Jackson Gore Road, Ludlow, VT 05149
  • Sept. 19, 6-8 p.m.: Hazen Union High School, 126 Hazen Union Drive, Hardwick, VT 05843
