MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – Support staff, licensed practical nurses and technical professionals at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury are celebrating the passage of their first union contract.
Negotiations had been underway since June, but on Saturday night, more than 300 staff members ratified their first union contract.
It includes average raises of 22% in the first year of the contract, measures to ensure safe staffing and investment in local staff.
The new union members join the registered nurses as members of the Porter Federation of Nurses & Health Professionals.
