The Northeast region was again drenched with rain, along with high winds, on Friday as the remnants of Tropic Storm Debby passed over. While the storm didn’t bring any major new flooding, high winds toppled trees and power lines across our region.
Meanwhile, the Northeast Kingdom continues to deal with flooding from last month. Governor Scott last week announced that Vermont’s Emergency Board approved $7 million in state money to provide help to businesses, farms, and nonprofits hit by flooding this year. Another $7 million will be used to buy mobile homes for people who lost them in flooding last summer.
