Vt. trooper praised for lifesaving Waterbury rescue

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont State Trooper and other first responder are being praised for their work in saving the life of a woman at a Waterbury golf course last month.

It happened on July 3 at the Blush Hill Country Club in Waterbury. Authorities say 68-year-old Sue Flynn was experiencing a medical emergency and several bystanders jumped into action to help, performing CPR. Vermont Tpr. Mae Murdock was among several troopers to reach the scene minutes later to take over until an ambulance arrived. Now, Flynn’s family has been singing praises of her performance that day and she has been nominated for the VSP’s annual Lifesaving Award.

Darren Perron spoke with Tpr. Murdock about what happened after they got the call.
