BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Getting an appointment could be easier for Vermonters going under the knife thanks to a decision from the Green Mountain Care Board.
The University of Vermont Medical Center pitched a project that would create an 8-bed outpatient surgical center in South Burlington.
The new site would replace the five beds at the Colchester campus.
The hospital says the $130 million proposal would help cut down UVMMC’s surgical backlog.
In a decision issued on Monday, the Green Mountain Care Board approved the hospital’s application for a certificate of need, getting the hospital one step closer to the new facility.
