BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The city of St. Albans threw their second annual church street festival Saturday.
The event was a collaboration between the St. Albans museum, and several community partners — in an effort to raise money for some of Church Street’s historic buildings.
Many of the buildings date back to the 1800′s, and they need repairs, like new windows, and air conditioning.
The event has over 25 vendors, and attracts three hundred people from in and around the area.
Officials say, preserving these buildings is important so that more people can learn about the city’s history.
“Our amazing historic buildings on church street are an Integral part of our history as well as our future. So we would like to raise some funds both cooling and heating so we can be open year round as opposed to just three days a week. During basically the summer season,” Corrina King of St. Albans Museum said.
The money raised will be split between all the buildings that need repairs.
