SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – There was a heavy police presence in South Burlington on Thursday afternoon after a wanted man fled into the woods of a neighborhood.
Officers spotted John Austin, a man wanted for an aggravated assault case stemming from last year.
But when they tried to make contact with Austin on Dorset Street, he ran into the woods near a busy South Burlington neighborhood.
Police say he hid there for about half an hour before he eventually peacefully surrendered himself to police.
No weapons were found at the scene but police were continuing their search.
