MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Two Vermont women face charges of Medicaid fraud.
The Attorney General’s Office says Amy Trela, 48, of Winooski, and Alicia Russell, 29, of Essex, pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Thursday on the felony charges.
Officials say an investigation found they falsely certified Medicaid timesheets, defrauding Vermont Medicaid of over $62,000 since 2019.
The judge ordered the co-defendants to be released on conditions.
