BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A new city attorney is appointed in Burlington. Jessica Brown is Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak’s choice.
Brown most recently served as an assistant professor and director of the Center for Justice Reform at Vermont Law School.
If confirmed by the city council, Brown will be the first black woman to serve as Burlington’s City Attorney.
“Truly, I feel like its an honor be considered to hold such an important role in helping to be of service to make Burlington the best that it can be, the safest community for everyone that lives here and visits here,” said Brown.
The mayor will ask the city council to confirm brown at their next meeting on Monday.
