COVID hospitalizations on the rise in New York

ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – Gov. Kathy Hochul is reminding New Yorkers to be vigilant as COVID rates rise in the Empire State.

Officials say COVID hospitalizations in New York are on the rise, partially driven by a new variant.

Hochul says hospitalizations now are currently well above the same time last year, but far below the same time in 2022.

With more social gatherings in the summer and warm weather driving people inside, Hochul is reminding people to test if they are symptomatic and follow CDC guidelines.
