Five men arrested after Springfield drug bust

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) – Five men are behind bars tonight after a drug bust in Springfield.

Vermont State Police executed a search warrant at 37 Reed Street today stemming from a months-long drug investigation.

Police say they found 54-year-old Douglas Marsh, 50-year-old Michael Spaulding, and 31-year-old Jesse Morey of Springfield, Vermont, along with 25-year-old Joshua Garcia and 22-year-old Gianni Gamble of Springfield, Massachusetts at the residence, along with evidence of drug use, drug distribution, and a firearm offense.

In a downstairs living room, police say there were more than 10,000 bags of fentanyl, over 9 ounces of cocaine, and 52 grams of crack. Two handguns also were recovered, one of which was found to be stolen out of New Hampshire.

Morey, Spaulding, Marsh, Garcia, and Gamble face multiple charges, including cocaine and fentanyl trafficking and possession of stolen property. They were taken into custody and jailed at the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Gamble’s bail is set at $50,000, Morey and Garcia’s bail is set at $25,000, Marsh’s is set at $15,000, and Spaulding’s is set at $5,000.

All five men are due to appear in court tomorrow.
