Brattleboro Police investigate bank robbery

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – A Brattleboro man was taken into custody Monday night after police there say he robbed a bank.

It happened Sunday at around 3:25 in the afternoon.

Brattleboro Police responded to the M&T Bank at 479 Canal St. after getting reports of a robbery.

When they got there, they found that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken by a man.

After reviewing the bank’s video footage, officers say they recognized him as 40-year-old Christopher Tate.

Tate was located and arrested just after 5:00 Monday evening, and is being held on $20,000 bail.

He will be arraigned in court tomorrow.
