STRAFFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – A plan to renovate and expand the historic town office building in Strafford is going back to the drawing board after it was rejected by voters Monday.
The current building is outdated and about half the size the town needs for day-to-day operations. The $1 million bond would have paid for the majority of the project.
Town officials say they are now focused on making immediate repairs to the upstairs, which the fire marshall has deemed off-limits.
The selectboard will be meeting next week to determine the next steps.
