BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – A truck driver accused of causing a deadly crash in Vermont will likely remain behind bars until at least next month.
State prosecutors recently filed an involuntary manslaughter charge against Satnam Singh, 24, of Ontario. He was briefly in court Wednesday but did not enter a plea.
Singh pleaded not guilty last month to a charge of gross negligent operation with death resulting.
Police say in April, Singh’s tractor-trailer crossed the center line on Route 100 in Moretown and hit a car driven by Rosetta Weber, 39, of Waitsfield. Weber died at the scene.
While Singh remains jailed on $150,000 bail, we are told that prosecutors are looking into a possible plea deal. He’s due back in court next month.
