BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Winooski is celebrating the revitalization with a groundbreaking — though main street construction is already underway.
The revitalization will re-do just under a mile of routes 2 and 7 where it runs from New England Central Railroad to the Colchester town line.
The upgrades include improvements to safety, accessibility, and utilities.
During work, Main Street will only be open to northbound traffic, with southbound lanes detoured onto Weaver Street.
Construction is expected to be finished in late 2025 or early 2026.
