NEWPORT, N.H. (WCAX) – A Vermont man faces charges after police say he intentionally caused a fuel leak while trying to steal a flat-bed truck in New Hampshire.
Police say on Sunday, they discovered an active leak where about 75 gallons of gasoline had spilled into the ground from a truck on North Main Street in Newport, New Hampshire.
Investigators say Jesse Terry, 57, of Killington, caused the leak on purpose while trying to steal the truck. And they say when they tracked him down a short time later in Grantham, he was driving another vehicle that had been reported stolen.
Terry now faces felony charges of criminal mischief and receiving stolen property.
