EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Authorities and school officials are trying to figure out what prompted a lockdown at U-32 High School late Thursday morning.
The Washington Central Unified Union School District Superintendent says the automated emergency response system placed the school into lockdown just after 11:30 a.m. It’s not believed to have been initiated from inside the building and police responded to find no threat to the school.
Students and staff were dismissed early anyway. The district says its IT team is looking into what happened.
