NH dad sentenced in murder of daughter, Harmony Montgomery, 5

CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – A New Hampshire man found guilty of killing his 5-year-old daughter was sentenced Thursday to 56 years to life in prison.

A jury found Adam Montgomery, 34, guilty in February of second-degree murder in the 2019 death of his daughter, Harmony. Adam Montgomery was also found guilty of second-degree assault, witness tampering, falsifying physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Thursday, Montgomery was sentenced to 45 years to life for the murder, four to eight years for assault, seven years for falsifying evidence, seven years for witness tampering and 12 months suspended for abuse of corpse, all consecutive.

Adam Montgomery appeared in court in person as a judge ordered he must last month. The order came after Montgomery didn’t attend his trial.

Harmony Montgomery was reported missing in 2021 but police believe she was killed two years earlier, in December 2019 in Manchester, New Hampshire. Her remains have never been found, but in March, a judge declared her legally dead at the request of her mother.
