NH dad faces sentencing in murder of daughter, Harmony Montgomery, 5

CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – A New Hampshire man found guilty of murdering his 5-year-old daughter could be sentenced on Thursday to life in prison.

A jury found Adam Montgomery, 34, guilty in February of second-degree murder in the 2019 death of his daughter, Harmony. Adam Montgomery was also found guilty of second-degree assault, witness tampering, falsifying physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Prosecutors have asked that he be sentenced to 56 years to life in prison for the crimes.

Last month, a judge ordered Adam Montgomery to appear in court for the sentencing after he didn’t attend his trial.

Harmony Montgomery was reported missing in 2021 but police believe she was killed two years earlier, in December 2019 in Manchester, New Hampshire. Her remains have never been found, but in March, a judge declared her legally dead at the request of her mother.
