RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – A Colchester man has been convicted for his role in a deadly 2021 armed robbery in Swanton.
Federal authorities say Dominique Troupe, 37, was convicted Monday following a six-day jury trial on drug, gun, and robbery charges.
Officials say Troupe was dealing crack to residents in Swanton when a rival dealer moved to the area, impacting his sales. They say Troupe and his distributors robbed the home on First Street, fatally shooting 22-year-old Elijah Oliver of Massachusetts.
Troupe faces 15 years to life in federal prison when he is sentenced.
