MORRISVILLE, Vt. (WCAX) – A large structure fire in Morrisville had crews busy early Sunday morning.
Residents inside an apartment building on Sterling Valley Rd. say they heard a lightning strike hit the roof.
The fire sparked quickly and everyone evacuated.
Morrisville Fire Chief says the flames had a head start on them but with the assistance of multiple neighboring towns and added manpower – they were able to keep it from spreading to nearby buildings.
“When you get a building this size – the roof collapsed so we had to be only outside – you need a lot of manpower because they get tired out real quick,” Morrisville Police Chief Dennis DiGregorio said.
The Chief says Morrisville rescue was standing by but there were no injuries reported.
