SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Mykala moody is mixing her passion of jewelry making with astrology.
“When I started making my crystal jewelry and really using that imagery, I wanted to inspire people to look up to the stars and the sun and the moon and that kind of thing,” Maenadic Moonglow owner Mykala Moody said.
And with the eclipse on the way, she figured she could make some merch.
“The eclipse has been really powerful when I’m making the jewelry, this eclipse is really bringing out a lot of new beginnings,” Moody said.
Moody is hoping this solar eclipse will inspire her for future jewelry making.
“I’ve just never experienced anything like this, and I am so excited to really just lean into that energy and I’m planning on drawing a lot of inspiration from it and seeing what sort of creativity it brings up,” Moody said.
Made in Vermont marketplace says there are over 50 vendors here that are truly made in Vermont.
“Made in Vermont marketplace is a one stop shop for all things local, locally made here in Vermont,” VermontBiz circulation and events manager Ellen Sheehey said.
Out of all the craft fairs the Green Mountain State has to offer, Sheehey says this fair is one of a kind.
“Made in Vermont marketplace is really unique because we try to only have things that are made here in the green mountain state so we get to show off all the different things and products that people make here a lot of those people are from here so it’s a really great opportunity to see Vermont crafted things,” Sheehey said.
And she says she is excited to see tourists embrace what Vermont vendors have to offer.
“We’re excited, we’ve had a lot of traffic from out of town which is another great opportunity to showcase all the things made here, we’re really excited looking forward to the eclipse, we have some fun themed items around which is great and we’re really excited happy to have people all come together and celebrate here,” Sheehey said.
This is the 11th year Made in Vermont Marketplace gathers for their showcase, and they have no plans on stopping any time soon.
