Police make arrest in fatal Elizabethtown shooting

ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. (WCAX) – Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Elizabethtown Monday.

It happened early Monday morning at a home on Lincoln Pond Road, New York State Police say they responded to a report of gunfire and found William Ball, 40, of Moriah, dead in his vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say their investigation led to Qwavon Harris, 28, of Brooklyn, who they located later Monday at the Stewart’s Shop in Elizabethtown. He was charged with second-degree murder and is due in court Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers have asked that people who live on Lincoln Pond Road check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.
