My First Blind Tattoo

Summary

I decided to get my first blind tattoo and learned that there is a tattoo convention coming to Burlington, VT.

Imperial Tattoo, Burlington, VT

I’ve always seen those get what you get tattoos or people just submitting things that they like and having the artist design something special for them and I’ve always wanted to try it.

Well, it finally happened, I decided to get a new tattoo and cover up an old one (no, it was not someone’s name). Since I wanted to do a cover up, I decided anything would be better than what I already had, so why not go into the session blind on the tattoo design. Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous but Jamie from Imperial Tattoo Company was amazing!

He designed a custom Darth Vader helmet inspired by samurai and we are now even talking about going all out to do a sleeve. Of course, me being a Star Wars nerd, I was trying my best not to freak out in excitement.  I have to be honest though, I called it quits 4 hours into the tattoo, so there’s still a lot left to do.

Here’s what we did so far:

Tattoo Convention

Jamie and I got to talking, and he’s going to be putting on a tattoo convention right here in Burlington, VT called The Green State Tattoo Convention. It’ll be held on July 19th-21st at the Double Tree Conference Center. There will be artists from all over the U.S. in attendance and some will book ahead for the convention while others will take walk-ins.  So, if you’ve been trying to plan your next tattoo, this may be for you.  For now, tickets can only be bought at the convention and will be $20 for a day, $30 for 2 days,  and $40 all 3 days (kids are free).
