Authorities spotlight distracted driving during eclipse

SOUTH HERO, Vt. (WCAX) – The total solar eclipse is just six days away, and while people are preparing to look to the skies, authorities are warning drivers to look their eyes on the road.

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and with the extra traffic and pedestrians flocking to our region, officials say paying attention to the road is more important than ever.

State and federal authorities were holding a media briefing in South Hero Tuesday morning about their initiatives to keep everyone safe during the eclipse.
