BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Monday night was the last council meeting for Mayor Miro Weinberger and five city councilors.
During public comment, some people expressed gratitude for the council’s and mayor’s service.
As is tradition, each councilor got to speak and Mayor Weinberger handed out plaques to honor the councilors leaving.
He also shared a message of thanks to the city as well.
“I want to extend my deep appreciation to the whole council. Together, we have managed an incredible body of work this past year, and an incredible time in the city’s pandemic recovery,” said Weinberger.
Mayor Weinberger also received a plaque.
The new city council, including the city’s new mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak, will start the next council meeting.
