Vermont House passes pollinator protection bill

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont House of Representatives passed legislation to protect bees and other pollinators from toxic pesticides known as neonics.

The bill has four main components, all of which work to help regulate the dangers associated with neonics.

Vermont has seen a rapid decline of important pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and moths.

The legislation must still win final approval from the house and is then expected to be taken up by the Senate.
