WINOOSKI, Vt. (WCAX) – Downtown Winooski is getting a facelift and it might be disruptive for a while.
That’s what residents heard at a public information meeting tonight discussing the construction plans of Winooski’s Main Street revitalization project.
The work will consist of redoing much of everything in the city’s right of way, including utilities like wastewater and natural gas and other work like roadway maintenance and landscaping.
People got to see the breakdown of when every part of the project is scheduled for completion and ask questions.
Construction begins April 15 of this year and is set to end in 2026.
The construction will run through three seasons with shutdowns in the winter.
The city says to watch out for road closures and changes to street parking.
