JOHNSON, Vt. (WCAX) – Kids born on Medicaid could be getting a trust fund thanks to the Baby Bond Bill.
At an event Monday at Jenna’s Promise Vermont Treasurer Mike Pieciak will be joined by the House and Senate sponsors of the bill to answer questions and tout the potential benefits.
The proposal would set aside $3,200 for each baby born on Medicaid. The money would be invested by the Treasurer’s Office and can be accessed when the beneficiaries are between 18 and 30.
The money can go towards things like buying a house, starting a business in Vermont or pursuing higher education.
