ORLEANS, Vt. (WCAX) – Police are investigating a pair of suspicious deaths in the Northeast Kingdom.
Vermont State Police say the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a home in the village of Orleans on Tuesday at about 5 p.m.
Police say they detained one person in connection with the investigation.
They are not yet releasing the victims’ names.
Vermont State Police, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, ambulance and fire crews were all at the scene on Water Street Tuesday evening. Troopers said the scene had been secured and was being processed for evidence.
The bodies will be sent to the medical examiner’s office in Burlington for autopsies to determine the cause and manner of their deaths.
