Vermont unemployment rate held steady in January

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – New data from the Vermont Department of Labor shows the state’s unemployment rate held steady in January.

The seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment rate for January was unchanged from December at 2.3%.

The rates for Vermont’s 17 labor markets ranged from a high of 6% in Derby to a low of 1.8% in Woodstock.

Labor officials say the workforce grew by one-tenth of a percentage point in January.
