St. Albans reelects Smith as mayor, approves TIF development

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The mayor of St. Albans secures another term. Tim Smith has been in office since 2018 and ran unopposed this year.

Voters also approved the tax increment financing – or TIF – for downtown development. That’s for an ambitious $11.4 million development project.

The 3-phase project would include additional housing downtown as well as sidewalks, brownfield remediation, and other infrastructure.
