WHITE RIVER JCT., Vt. (WCAX) – A registered sex offender is back behind bars, and could be for life.
The Vermont Attorney General’s Office says Edwin Read, 31, formerly of Royalton and Barre, was sentenced Thursday on several child sex crimes including aggravated sexual assault and possession of child porn.
Read had been convicted of similar charges in 2015 and police say he got caught again with more child porn in 2019 and sexually abused a child the same year.
He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison, the maximum sentence allowed by Vermont law for the charges.
