BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – As road construction wraps up in one spot in downtown Burlington, it’s set to begin in two other places.
Burlington’s $30 million Main Street makeover is part of the Great Streets BTV initiative. It will include new bike lanes, public art, wider sidewalks and gardens.
The work currently underway on Main Street between South Winooski Avenue and South Union Street is expected to be completed by the end of the week, with that block of Main Street set to reopen on Monday, March 4.
Then, work will begin for sewer main replacements within the intersections at Main Street and Pine Street, and Maple Street and Church Street.
These intersections will both be closed for about four weeks.
