Burlington celebrates Black History Month with the Black Experience 2024

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – As part of Black History Month in Burlington, this weekend the Flynn will host the Black Experience 2024.

BX24 is a free holistic celebration of Vermont’s Black-lived experience, and the event is a staple of Burlington’s observation of Black History Month.

This year, one of hip-hop’s most accomplished artists, Tali Kweli, headlines the event. There will also be special presentations by Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock and keynote speaker Dr. Robert Livingston, a leading expert on the science underlying bias and racism.

Emiliano Void organized the event. Our John McMahon spoke to him to get a preview of what you can expect if you attend. Watch the video to see their full conversation.

The event is free to the public, but registration is recommended. Click here for more details.
