NASA mission paving the way for astronauts to return to the moon

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A private U.S. lunar lander on Thursday afternoon will attempt to touchdown on the Moon, the first time the U.S. has returned to the lunar surface since NASA astronauts closed out the Apollo program in 1972.

Intuitive Machines lander, Odysseus, is hauling experiments for NASA — and other clients — designed to help the agency test how to safely land on the moon for the upcoming Artemis missions.

Cat Viglienzoni spoke with NASA’s Sue Lederer about the mission.
