CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – A debate over the southern border is popping at the New Hampshire Statehouse.
Governor Chris Sununu put a request to the fiscal committee to authorize money to send New Hampshire National Guard member to the southern border.
The $850,000 would allow for 15 volunteer members of the Guard to be stationed in Eagle Pass, Texas, for up to 90 days. They would be operating under the direction of the Texas National Guard.
Democrats in the state say the request is inappropriate. The fiscal committee will consider the request on Friday.
