Rivendell Academy head of school leaving mid-year

ORFORD, N.H. (WCAX) – The Rivendell Academy’s head of school is leaving mid-year.

School administration sent out a notice to the Orford school’s community saying Keri Gelenian is retiring and not returning for the remainder of the school year.

Superintendent Barrett Williams says he will take over as the acting principal until a permanent plan is in place.

The grade 6 to 12 school has about 246 students and serves the Vermont communities of Fairlee, West Fairlee, and Vershire. The tiny district has recently faced a number of difficult budgetary decisions, prompting consolidation efforts.
