Miss Vermont Earth discusses plans, new book

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The reigning Miss Vermont Earth is helping young girls around the world gain access to education and health care.

Isabella Williams was recently crowned Miss Vermont Earth and vied for the national title last month in Florida.

Since 2001, the Miss Earth pageant says it has created a platform for women and girls to experience the glamour of the pageant industry while making an impact on pressing environmental issues around the globe.

Darren Perron spoke with Williams about her plans and new book, “Strong Girls,” aimed at empowering young women.
