Vermont Broadcast Assoc. Radio Group gets new ownership

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont Broadcast Associates Radio Group is seeing some new ownership.

Bruce James, owner of VBA, is selling his seven radio stations in the Northeast Kingdom and parts of New Hampshire.

Senator Russell Ingalls has already taken over the premier radio broadcasting and media production company. He says moving forward, he wants to focus on more local news in the community and not so much on the national platform.

Ingalls says he’s taken on advertising and real estate and this is something new for him.

“I have always been community minded. I have always done a lot of radio. You know, it is opportunity. I don’t know how a guy like myself could be bored, but I am bored. We see this as a challenge,” said Sen. Russell Ingalls, R-Essex/Orleans County.

Ingalls says James is helping the next couple weeks with the transition and employees will have a share in the company.
