BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Sue Wear, a South Burlington computer systems analyst, helps people find their missing dogs and cats.
Wear has worked countless cases and estimates her success rate at 75-to-80 percent. The “pet detective” last month solved one of her trickiest cases, the four-month disappearance of Ruby, a two-year-old street dog from Mexico who bolted out the door of her new home in the South End of Burlington in August, less than 24 hours after she arrived. In December, after sightings in Shelburne, Burlington, near the airport in South Burlington, in Winooski, and Colchester, the cattle dog shepherd mix was humanely captured behind — get this — Casa Real, a Mexican restaurant in Colchester near I89. She’s home now– and I might add — on a very short leash.
