BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont health and conservation officials want to remind you of what can and can’t go down the toilet.
The Department of Environmental Conservation says you should only flush human waste, toilet paper, and toilet cleaning products.
Even wipes labeled “flushable” can clog pipes, septic systems, and household plumbing.
They say not to flush tissues, cotton swabs, floss, diapers, feminine hygiene products, cat litter, or medications.
See here for more information on how to dispose of household waste.
