BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Jeffersonville couple will face three years of supervised release after admitting to a scheme to buy guns illegally and provide them to others.
Federal authorities say Jacob and Tamira McKenna tried to buy handguns from a Williston shop and lied on their ATF forms.
They say the couple falsely stated they were not users of illegal drugs and tried to obtain several nine nine-millimeter pistols in 2022 and 2023 that they intended to give to other people prohibited from possessing firearms.
Both were sentenced in federal court on Tuesday to time served. They also are subject to supervised release for the next two to three years.
