BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Stowe Mountain Resort and New York’s Whiteface Mountain are included in a new ranking of the 12 Best Ski Resorts in the U.S.
The U.S. News and World Report ranking picked them — along with Sugarloaf in Maine — out of a list top-heavy with western resorts.
Among the takeaways — Stowe is “great for mid-tier skiers and boarders, with 55% of its trails marked as intermediate,” as well as being a “renowned spot for cross-country skiing.”
Whiteface is described as being committed to sustainability, generating much of its own solar power and protecting native wildlife, along with the tallest vertical drop in the eastern U.S.
