BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Howard Center is making it easier to reach resources for Vermonters dealing with substance abuse.

The Howard Center introduced its ‘substance use services mobile unit’ to reach Vermonters in more rural parts of northwestern Vermont.

The mobile unit can offer opioid abuse disorder treatment and other services for people who can’t access other Howard Center locations.

The van location and dates are as follows: Monday 10-3:30 at Howard Center St. Albans, Tuesday 10:30-3:30 at Swanton Library, and Thursday 10:30-3:30 at Richford Notch Community.

Van visitors can meet with doctors in person or through telehealth to connect with other services, opioid use disorder prescriptions, and to access safe use supplies.
