BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Police in Burlington are investigating a downtown shooting and armed robbery.
They say early Saturday morning, officers responded to an incident involving more than a dozen people at Ake’s Place, a bar on Church Street.
They say one man allegedly had a gun but police couldn’t find it when they detained him. He was then released.
A few minutes later, a woman told police two men robbed her at gunpoint on St. Paul Street, threatening to shoot her and steal her purse, which had a gun in it.
Police later learned she was the girlfriend of the man detained earlier.
They say a few hours later, that man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand.
