BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A new face is at the helm of Burlington’s Racial Equity Inclusion and Belonging Office.
Christian Berry has been tapped as interim director while the city looks for a permanent new leader. Berry has been working for the REIB since last October.
The city office has been through a tumultuous couple of years with multiple directors and even went without a permanent director earlier this year due to budget cuts. It comes at the same time as DEI departments in some businesses and public universities have been scaled back or eliminated in recent months.
Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney Stanak says the city now plans to post the job in the coming months.
