Public meeting on state of Vermont Yankee

VERNON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermonters can learn more on Monday about efforts to continue to keep people safe following the decommissioning of the state’s only nuclear power plant.

Vermont Yankee closed in 2014 after decades in operation.

Demolition started in 2019, and so far, there have been no regulatory violations.

On Monday, the Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel will hold its last full panel meeting of 2024 where people can hear about the progress and ask officials questions about the project.

It starts at 6 p.m. and people can attend remotely. Click here for all the details.
